The Future of Folklife
About this Cause
As we countdown to Northwest Folklife's 50th Anniversary, we hope you will join us in our quest to ensure the bright Future of Folklife. 2018 has been a year of many new and exciting beginnings, including the launch of Our Big Neighborhood, a year-round youth and family centered partnership with Seattle Center. This coming Saturday, Seattle Children's Festival will celebrate it's 5th year of getting kids and families to play - through music, dance, art, cuisine and cultural activities. Our very first Youth Residency Project: Próxima Generación, collaborated on a stunning 2-hour presentation that let us experience Mexican American and Chicana/o identity through youthful eyes and voices. We look forward to continuing this program in 2019, connecting youth with important Roots Music heritage. Northwest Folklife's Youth Artist Residencies are just another way that we can foster intergenerational exchange and celebrate cultural traditions. YOUR generous contributions will ensure that Folklife is an integral part of our City, the Pacific Northwest region, and the nation - for many generations to come.
